Walz called on other candidates running for governor to release their tax returns as well
In addition to his 2021 return, Walz has previously released more than 10 years of returns
ST. PAUL, MN — Today, ahead of next week’s tax deadline, Gov. Tim Walz released his 2021 tax return. Gov. Walz has previously released more than 10 years of tax returns, dating back to his time in Congress, in order to promote transparency from all candidates and elected officials in Minnesota.

“Minnesotans need to be able to trust their leaders, and that starts with transparency and accountability,” said Gov. Walz. “Candidates from both parties have committed to releasing their returns in previous elections, and I am releasing mine today to maintain that commitment to transparent elections. I encourage all candidates running for governor to release their tax returns so that Minnesotans can make informed choices in this election.”
As a member of Congress, Gov. Walz introduced the STOCK Act, a bill that sought to limit congressional insider trading and increase transparency and accountability from elected officials. In 2012, the STOCK Act passed with overwhelming bipartisan support in both the House and the Senate.
